WHV: Austria and Czech Republic added; Government letter of support dropped for Argentinians
The list of countries participating in Australia’s working holiday visa program continues to grow. The working holiday visa program encompasses two visa subclasses: the Working Holiday (subclass 417) visa and the Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa.
Australia has added both Austria and the Czech Republic to the list of approved countries in a new legislative instrument for Work and Holiday visas after diplomatic arrangements were made towards the end of 2017 and early 2018.
Interested Austrians and Czechs must have either completed a tertiary qualification or have successfully completed at least two years of undergraduate study, among other things. As with every other country, applicants must be at most 30 years of age. There has been no change to the maximum age for any country yet.
For Argentinians, a letter of support from their Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a Work and Holiday visa is not required for any application from February 2018 after both governments came to an agreement to drop this requirement.
